Think of me when you look to the sea.
Julian, the prince of the Great Sea, the white-tailed merman, or the outcast of the kingdom. Jaskier has had many names and no choice of who they make him out to be. He's preparing to become king, but with those closest to him fighting it, the attention of a human girl, and a certain famous white-haired witcher all in the mix, it won't be that easy.
Feeling arise, resolves tested, and hearts are broken on a journey Jaskier was never prepared to take.
He just has to hope that he'll make it out with at least a piece of his heart left.

Summary
Geralt Riviiowski and Jaskier Pankratz have been best friends and roommates for just about twenty years, despite their many differences. They've been through several moves, two cats, Jaskier's various inadvisable adventures, and a year of not speaking to each other. What they've never had to do is look after a twelve-year-old girl, but when Ciri Rhiannon shows up outside of their apartment one rainy night, they end up doing just that. It would be hard enough navigating the pitfalls of parenthood, but Ciri also happens to be the princess of Cintra and on the run from Nilfgaard, who want to finish their invasion of her country by capturing the princess and disposing of her threat to their control of Cintra. Oh, and Geralt is trying to figure out how to confess his feelings to Jaskier. Will they keep Ciri safe from the Nilfgaardian threat? Will Geralt pull himself together? Will Jaskier and Yen ever convince Geralt to stop going for runs in inclement weather? The mysteries never end.

The hall seems to hold its breath for a moment and then, a great rumble like thunder in the distance, coming from every voice in the hall, “White Wolf!”
Jaskier could swear, even though he’s only one of hundreds, that in that moment, Geralt looks directly at him, golden eyes burning into his soul.

Roach glances over and nickers at him softly. “You and me, girl, we’ve got a hell of a job on our hands,” Jaskier whispers to her. “Don’t you worry, though. I’ll stick around for a bit. Help you out.”
Roach flicks an ear at him, and then goes back to her hay. Jaskier heaves a sigh. “Sometimes I feel so unappreciated.”

“Why do you wear that collar?” the witcher asks.
Jaskier startles. He’s been fiddling with it, he realises, a nervous habit. He didn’t think the witcher had noticed, even though those golden eyes seem to spot most things.
“It’s so people know what I am,” he says.
“And what are you?” the witcher says. His tone has turned surprisingly gentle. Perhaps he can hear the misery in Jaskier’s voice.
“Bound in service,” Jaskier explains. He tries on a smile. “It might not look like it, but I’m as much of a prisoner as you are.”
Jaskier didn’t exactly plan to escape from his master alongside a terrifying witcher. But it might turn out to be one of his better decisions.

Summary
Jaskier is an omega and part of an arranged marriage to unite the Pankratz and Von Rivia crime families. He is tied to an alpha, Geralt aka White Wolf and both see the marriage as duty, but how much of it is purely duty? Meanwhile, a rival gang upsets the balance the Von Rivia’s have created in their city and it turns out two recently married criminals are just the two needed to restore order.
Side Note: Eskel/Jaskier is brief and does not last.
Sider Note: this universe is inspired by the Edo and Meiji Periods in Japanese history, mixed with the Witcher-verse, and the Omega Verse. So if you’re a bit confused, that’s understandable.

“Melitele’s tits, you’re persistent. Isn’t your…” His left hand does something complicated in a strange flourish, as though grappling for the right word. “... actual father, here somewhere?” It doesn’t sound like the word he’d been searching for, the common honorific somehow sounding foreign in his mouth.
“I was with him,” she admits, thinking about Geralt because he is the closest thing to a father she has now. “But… we got separated.”
The stranger raised an unimpressed eyebrow. “So, now you’re looking to adopt a new one?”
...
Alternatively: When Ciri gets separated from Geralt, she has to rely on the kindness of one reluctant stranger until she can find the witcher again. She doesn't intend to get attached - and it's apparent that neither does the stranger - but destiny always finds a way to fuck things up.
