Summary
Samira ignored the way having Trinity so close to her was making her palms sweat. She’d had a crush on Trinity since that first shift together when Trinity had taken the blame for Samira’s mistake without a second thought. For almost a year she’d been trying to ignore her feelings, to keep them safely inside of a box in the back of her brain. But when Trinity was this close and Samira was feeling warm from the drinks, it was hard to keep the lid on that box.
“I don’t know. I’ve never done it before,” Samira admitted, dragging her finger along the ring of condensation her drink had left on the table.
“Really?” Trinity asked and Samira nodded. “D’you want me to go with you? Moral support or whatever?”
It was impossible to say no when Trinity was staring at her with wide, pleading eyes.
“Fine.” Samira finished the rest of her drink in one long swig while Trinity grinned at her. “But I’m picking the song.”

Summary
Trinity, in theory, is not a hard person to shop for. It's one of the first things Samira learned when holidays and birthdays and other celebrations started coming around over the course of their relationship, both thanks to her own observations and from Whitaker.
However, in actuality, Trinity is not easy to shop for, and Samira is not as great at pickng out the perfect gift as she thought. At least not when it comes to anniversaries.
