Will’s grip tightened unconsciously against itself, eyes widening and breath stilling.
“My god.” He whispered. Will’s gaze was still directed ahead, level with Horace’s hipline.

“It’s different,” Yoshiki mumbles, dropping his chin into his hand. “Hikaru ain’t— I mean— it’s just— he’s… a monster.”
The boy eyes him, silent for a moment. He studies Yoshiki, but he’s not judgmental, and it’s weird, he thinks. Not being judged.
“I was a monster, too,” the boy eventually says. “He still loves me.”
__OR: crossover moment!!! the jjk trio are sent to kubitachi on a mission to identify and monitor potential curse activity in the area. at the same time, yoshiki meets a couple of city folk who just might be able to change his entire life’s perspective.

Nightmares of men finding his people dragging them up in nets, cutting them open like any other fish, suddenly felt so real and imminent that he’d actually stopped breathing, freezing in fear as the boy stared back at him, his eyes just as wide. Then he’d smiled at him, like Veritas was the best thing he’d ever laid eyes on. He hadn’t run away screaming; he’d actually had the audacity to step closer.

The man hovering over him leaned back, releasing Grian completely. Cold night air rushed in to fill the void.
“I guess it’s out in the open now,” the stranger hummed. “Shame. I wanted to avoid this.”
With the additional glow occupying the space between them, Grian was finally able to catch features that were lost in the prior darkness. His curiosity outweighed all else, and he drank them in greedily. As soon as he saw who sat across from him, alarms blared in his mind.
This man wasn’t a civilian, wasn’t even a hero.
“Hello, Doctor,” the villain mused. “You were quite the help today.”
