Summary
Ji Ling's infatuation with the woman makes Li Jie's skin crawl with an unknown feeling, something he has not yet been able to give a name to although he thinks he has seen aspects of it before. The little fox has always drawn the eyes of people around them, his bright smile and joyful, naive personality a magnet to all sort of characters. Back then Li Jie took the feeling for vigilance - it's him who was tasked with keeping Ji Ling safe, therefore whatever he felt must have been connected to the sense of protectiveness he has over the boy, to the promise he gave the Dragon Deity of keeping Ji Ling out of danger.
But Yu Wei poses no threat to either of them.

Mark is leaning toward him without realizing, needing to hear him over the low thrum of the music downstairs to know that this isn’t a dream. “So, I decided to not let you avoid me anymore.”
