“Three teenagers wouldn’t do much against Greyback,” Remus answered with a soft huff as Sirius’ face seemed to lighten up that little bit more. They were close enough that their noses were almost touching, their knees banging against each other every so often when either of them shifted.
Sirius had a magic to him that no other wizard or witch that Remus had ever met possessed. He had a distinct ability to lighten any situation Remus found himself in, shoving his way into either the topic of conversation or Remus’ own personal space and somehow both making it work and lifting his mood.
“I’d sock him in the nose for you,” Sirius joked with that cheeky grin of his. Remus matched it.

“Really though, Doctor.” Regulus crosses his arms, and the Doctor stops, tilting his head with a curious expression. “Who are you?”
And, once again, the Doctor tells him.
“You know when you’re a kid, and the adults tell you that the world is turning, but you just can’t bring yourself to believe it because it looks as though everything is standing still? Well, I can feel it.” He steps closer to Regulus, and takes hold of his hand, giving it a light squeeze. “I can feel the turn of the earth. The ground beneath our feet is spinning at 1000 miles an hour. The entire planet is hurtling around the sun at 67,000 miles an hour. And I can feel it. We’re falling through space, Regulus, you and me. We’re clinging to the skin of this tiny little world, and if we let go…”
The Doctor drops Regulus’ hand.
“That’s who I am. Now, forget me, Regulus Black.”

Regulus and Sirius are the new kids in school. James is curious and Remus couldn't care less.
I wasn't planning on sharing this fic yet (or maybe ever) but I'm bored so I'm doing this. This fic is relatively dark - it handles a lot of heavy topics. Just know I'm not writing this lightly and understand the severity of everything that is comes up. Some of it I've been through myself and some of it I would just like to represent. I'm going to put the main warnings for the fic here now, but they will also be mentioned at the beginning of every chapter. If you don't want spoilers, skip past the warnings, but take care of yourselves because these topics are very very heavy.
WARNINGS: self harm, suicide attempts (past and present), grooming, drug abuse and rehab, child abuse/neglect, unhealthy relationships, manipulation, alcohol misuse, PTSD hinted at. (I might add more here later on.)
Title meaning: 'Killer Queen' can mean a person who is of high status in society but acts out or acts provocatively.
CH1 WARNINGS: underage smoking, drug misuse, dark humour, brief mention of parent death (past), mention of someone getting groped (past) - let me know if I forgot anything

Regulus Black believes this to be false. He is an anomaly to this rule, he is an outlier, because not only is he a villain to everyone around him, he’s also a villain to himself. When Regulus finds a bright, burning reminder of his past in his estranged brother, Sirius Black, he decides to chase this star from within the shadows. There's only one way to do this, however. He shamelessly uses his replacement, James Potter.
But what starts as a means to an end, turns into an entanglement of romance between the most unlikely of matches; the boy who seeks refuge in shadow, and the boy who glitters in the sunlight. It's no surprise that Regulus can’t help but root himself further into tragedy, corroding everything his touch meets.

Summary
Remus is a PhD student and hobbyist baker who finds himself adrift following his father’s death.
