OH MY GOD. THIS FIC. OH MY GOD. OHHHH MYYY GOODNNESSS woo sorry okay. Now, there's a big reason why I avoid fics with "religious guilt" just because, when written well, it hits HARD. This piece of writing was just so, human. It really shows the fragility of human beings, and their succumbing to things such as alcohol. The absolute gut-wrenching feeling of being at cross roads with your religion, and your sexuality is a deeply horrific feeling. This REALLY emphasized that to me. It just hits you with the characters, and their desires--the desire to be close to another human being. But having to first adhere to those around you, instead of adhering to yourself first. Yk? Ykykyk? This has me in a painful choke-hold, but I'm here for the long run. Just the main takeaway, it feels so absurdly real. Feelings, real. Hit you like a truck.
