“Frankenstein, may I ask you a question?”
This was not an uncommon occurrence. Raizel had questions on all sorts of matters related to human life and the modern world, about whatever the latest thing the kids were into, about what he’d seen in TV or movies, and so on. Frankenstein always did his best not only to answer Raizel’s question, but to completely fulfill any passing interest or idea that Raizel had. It was the least that Frankenstein could do knowing that their time together was limited.
“Anything, Master.”
“What is a birthday?”
“It is the date that someone is born, Master,” said Frankenstein with a soft smile. “Humans don’t live very long, so they celebrate their birthday every single year..."
