Summary
The muzzle, the lower half of the segmented mask, is a stunning masterwork of leather and metal designed to end in a curved, dangerously sharp point, mimicking that of a falcon’s beak.
It is a shining silver mimicry etched with jasmine, honeysuckle, and camellia flowers along its surface, bound to his head by thick straps under his jaw and around his ears. The upper half of the mask is a soft cream white and vibrant dark blue, not quite Bai Zhan colours. Too warm in hue, sitting surprisingly soft and dreamy upon the mask’s surface. Feathers fan around the holes for his eyes, and back from his forehead.
‘Aesthetically pleasing to look at,’ his husband had murmured when it'd first been finished, ‘perfectly suited for my Qingge.’ He'd flushed pink at the shamelessness then, stormed off; his stomach churning with a sickly buzzing sensation he wanted to say he couldn’t recognise. As it was he simply refused to acknowledge it. And here, now, he doesn't need to think about it at all, just sweetly float under his husband’s gentle guidance and firm guiding palm.
