Sees a diplomat wagging a thick finger in her face, spittle at the corners of his mouth.
And he sees red, the glass groaning in his grip. Passes the glass to a grinning Olesya and storms across the room, stepping in between Eva and the diplomat, a furious, “Hey, man, leave her alone.”
“But she-”
“You’re talking to me now, buddy,” he says, squaring his shoulders. He’s taller than this guy anyway. “So pick on someone your own size.”

Line crossed - because she makes him insane, because she’s so unbelievably gorgeous beneath him, because she likes it - he drops his head to kiss her. Tastes her desperation in the hot movement of her mouth, her tongue pressing to his teeth, pulls back and whispers, “Ask nicely.”
Her eyes are bright with lust, brow trying to crease into a glare, and a stammer of something in German leaves her lips.
“English,” he whispers.
