“Sammy!” Dean called out as Sam entered the room, closing the door behind him.“Dean, what are you doing here?” Sam asked a little unsteadily as he noted that his brother had pasted a huge grin on his face and was bouncing on the balls of his feet, looking a little manic and definitely not like Sam had ever seen him before.
“Came to see you, dummy.” Dean laughed but it wasn’t his usual laugh, this one sent shivers down Sam’s spine, and not the good kind.
“That’s ah, that’s awesome.” Sam said nervously since this whole thing felt so off, not to mention John’s voice was ringing in his ears saying not to approach Dean, and that was exactly what he’d done.

Sam’s mouth snaps shut, and their reunion is plunged into silence. If Sam hadn't remembered that specific chapter of their youth, he sure as hell did now. His younger brother's previous heat cools, leaving him looking washed out and haunted in the moonlight.

“So,” Sam starts, “when you were up there with those alie – whatever they were, what did they – I mean, what happened to you?” Sam asks, matter of fact, barely bothering to register the slight grimace on Dean’s face and the tension that froze his muscles.
Dean takes another long drink from the liquor bottle and grits his teeth, “What’s it matter to you, anyway?”
**“You think this is the first time I’ve imagined you under someone stronger or bigger than you?” Sam’s swirling his glass in small circles before he finishes off the rest of the dark amber liquid. “It’s no secret how you used to get just enough money to support us when Dad had been missing longer than planned and was out of cell service.”
The blood continues to drain from Dean’s face, his palms becoming increasingly clammy around the large liquor bottle, “I don’t know what you’re talking about, I don’t need to hear this...”
