Another flash of lightning suddenly comes down where Shinsuke’s looking, in the distance—on his rice fields.
And in that split second of light, he sees a figure.
A person, he thinks. Two hands, raised in the air. Billowing cloth at the waist. The silhouette of a large ring sporting smaller circles, surrounding the figure like a halo that encapsulates not only the head but the body.
They stand over one of his rice paddies in the black-white freeze frame of a world lit up with lightning alone.
Then the world is dark again.
BOOM!

Summary
A red comet flies.
A dead prince begins to breathe again on the burning funeral pyre that was meant to turn him to ashes, and his brother carries him out of the flames.
Seven of the men that fought in the Trial yesterday morning are unknowingly chosen as champions of the Seven, to begin the fragmented process of understanding just what it means to be Seven Who Are One.

Or: What if the Seven saved Baelor, and then put him, Maekar, Daeron, Dunk, Lyonel, Raymun and Robyn Rhysling in a group that can mind meld/body share with one another? All for the purpose of eventually saving Westeros, of course.

“Ah!” exclaims the one with grey hair and a fresh face, mole decorating the corner of his eye. He’s pointing directly at Aran. “Inarizaki!”
The five other boys that accompany the rudely pointing guy all turn their heads at once to stare into the elevator where Aran, his friends, and his best friend’s grandmother are all standing, dumbfounded.
The elevator doors begin to close.
The guy Aran’s pretty sure is Karasuno’s captain lunges for the hallway button at the same time that Shinsuke’s hand darts out to press the open button from their side. The doors abruptly stop in place with a worrying clank, and then they very slowly start to slide open again. The tall guy with the bedhead looks like he’s holding back more laughter, though his face turns constipated when the shortest one in their group punches him in the side and hisses at him to shut up.
Yumie-baachan chuckles softly in the awkward pause, but nobody moves until Shinsuke asks, “Y’all gonna come in?”

The best gift of all that Rintarou’s stupid boyfriend gives him today isn’t the unreasonably nice homemade chocolate (obviously well-made, seeing as how both twins are bastards that are somehow good at everything), but when he goes on to prove that apparently the Miyas’ various and sundry talents come at the deficit of having shitty personalities and worse common sense.
Because when they take out the Valentine’s Day chocolates they’ve made from scratch, clearly with romantic intentions behind their crafting, the twins don’t give those chocolates to the guys they’re dating.

They give them to Ojiro-san.

On the first day of Shinsuke’s second year, after that morning’s entrance ceremony, he walks by the first year classes on the way to the cafeteria at lunch and sees a one-man commotion in the hallway, yelling about betrayal in front of Class 1-1's doorway. He sees that same first year minutes later in the cafeteria, not making any commotion at all as the boy clearly enjoys an egg sando. Before the lunch period ends, Shinsuke sees the new kid one more time, grumbling and kicking at a vending machine.
He figures he won't have to think much about the loud and uppity first year that apparently really likes egg sandos, but then Shinsuke walks into volleyball practice after the school day is over, sees the new first years line up for tryouts, and again finds that same face there.
Twice.
Ah, Shinsuke thinks. Twins.

Summary
During their lunch break, Osamu and Suna accidentally manage to eavesdrop on a girl confessing to Kita-san, and they hear her get rejected because Kita-san says he likes someone else.
Naturally, this leads to: a totally casual and not at all suspicious series of questions posed to the other third years about who Kita-san is crushing on; a farm day at the Kita family rice paddies that features both duck-wrangling and tea-drinking on the Kita family’s engawa (not at the same time); a high school sweetheart boyfriend that eventually doubles as Osamu’s future rice supplier; and the coming-of-age realization that sometimes, onigiri really is the answer.
All in a day’s questionable spying.

And then a flame-throwing man with horrible burn scars and a fanged blond girl with a penchant for knives show up out of nowhere and set a city block on fire. Yaku feels a little in over his head, but at least he has help from... another Spiderman that's saying the multiverse exists?!

Norman is taken so offguard, he exclaims, “Boyfriend tee?!” out loud in the otherwise quiet of their room.
Yeah! Skip cheerfully replies. Marge says that’s what it’s called when you wear the shirt of someone you like.
“No,” he says. “It’s only a boyfriend tee if you’re my boyfriend, and you’re not.”
The body halts halfway through putting on a pair of jeans, their knee raised awkwardly.
“I’m not?” Skip asks, out loud now too. He has the audacity to sound forlorn about it, like he and Norman discussed this at any point at all.
“No?” Norman replies. “Did you ask me out? Did we say we were dating? Did we have any sort of conversation about it?”
“But…” Skip replies, pouting down at their jeans. Norman mentally rolls his eyes and takes back control so he can continue putting on their pants.

Arthur laughs and huddles close to Lapin, grinning wildly. “Hey,” he says in an excited whisper, loudly hushed like they’re sharing secrets, “so you know how I'm a master of chronomancy and everyone you know is dead?”
Lapin blinks, his stomach dropping. “You said everyone I know is fine—that that was a quangled Calorum.”
“Yes! No, exactly!” Arthur replies, before Lapin’s sudden anxiety can mount too much. “Don’t worry, we fixed it. They’re not actually all dead.” He waves a hand airily, and Lapin tries not to be annoyed. (He only mostly succeeds.) “My bad. I was just going to offer to return you to your time of death, in your Calorum—the non-quangled, canon one, so to speak. Maybe you can do something different. Give yourself a fighting chance!”
Dating Arthur has been fun, but Lapin still finds himself homesick and missing Candia (especially, perhaps, a certain gummy bear knight). Lucky for him, Arthur's a deft hand at chronomancy.

Fabian pauses to look up at Goldenhoard, stopped in time. The balloon arch behind them is maybe a little trite, but it’s also maybe a little sweet. He’s never been to a school dance before, homeschooled as he was on his father's ship, and a part of him wonders if this is supposed to be a shared experience every high schooler has.
“It’s too bad we aren’t here to actually enjoy prom,” Fabian says. “Didn’t even have the time to dance or anything.”
“Do you… want to dance?” Gorgug asks, hesitantly.
Near the end of freshman year, in the shadow of a dragon paused mid-battle thanks to some miraculous chronomancy, Fabian and Gorgug slow dance at prom.
It still takes the better part of a decade for them to start dating.

“Try them,” Fabian says, bringing him back to the present before he gets too lost in his head. His friend shuffles over and pats the space next to him in this mountain of fancy sheets. “They are like cream, you know.”
Wow. Gorgug must look absolutely miserable if Fabian is offering bed space. He hesitates, thinking he should go to his own room, but he knows that if he goes back, he’ll just lie awake all alone wondering why Zelda hasn’t messaged back yet.
And those sheets do look pretty comfortable…
And Fabian’s definitely got more than enough to share…
“Yeah, okay,” Gorgug finally replies, heading further into Fabian’s room and drawing the blanket-door of the space closed once more.
It's the Bad Kids' first night in Fallinel and Adaine needs to be rescued tomorrow first thing, but tonight, Gorgug somehow ends up cuddling a still-coughing Fabian back to sleep.
(Maybe Gorgug needed some cuddling too.)
