Jack notices David's eyes on him and turns his head to meet his gaze, that same smile of admiration now directed at him instead of at Miss Medda.
His smile shouldn't be making David feel the same butterflies that he should be feeling around pretty girls, but he can't help himself when Jack's full attention is on him and he's just so good-looking. He definitely shouldn't be saying something like that about another boy, either.
