    Summary

At fifteen, Percy learned he was going to die. The prophecy promised it.

But Luke died instead. Then Leo. Then everyone except him.

Percy kept surviving when he shouldn’t, when he didn’t want to, when others burned in his place.

“Percy stared at his hands, at the blood drying in the creases of his palms, and tried to understand.

Tried to make it make sense. The hero's soul, cursed blade shall reap.

    His blade.

    Someone else's soul.

The math didn't work. The prophecy didn't work.

He didn't work, still breathing, still alive, still wrong.”

    It goes like this:

Annabeth sneaks into his cabin two hours after his last nightmare and two minutes after hers. She kisses him till they’re out of breath, till they can forget what brought them here.

It is not the worst thing they have done to each other.

A brief insight into Percy's headspace after the Giant War.

    Summary

“I just don’t understand why the Greeks treat him as such a big deal,” Marcel said “Or even the gods. Lady Juno and Lord Mars clearly backed him, and I don’t understand why. He certainly doesn’t look like much.”

“Why don’t you just ask around?” she asked him. “Heroes have stories and people are always eager to tell them. I’m sure any of the Greeks could tell you more about him.”

“It’s not a bad idea,” Jordan added. “It would be nice knowing exactly why he was part of the prophesied Seven. I know the Venus girl had sorcery and the Vulcan boy obviously had power over fire. But why Jackson? Just because they took a boat?”

Despite raising him on a shield, Romans don't know much about Percy Jackson, or even the Greeks in general. As the Legion attempts to recover from the wars, they find out there is far more to the Son of Neptune then they originally thought, and learn quite a few things about themselves along the way.

    Summary

Jason's father hasn't been answering his prayers. He's used to it; Jupiter's always been stoically silent when it came to his son, but he'd hoped with the alliance between Camp Half-Blood and New Rome, things might be different.

Percy's optimistic. He can totally get Jason in contact with his dad. He just can't guarantee Zeus'll be in a good mood when they speak. That's fine though.

    Right?

ALTERNATIVELY: Percy hears Jason praying to his dad and decides to teach him the right way to pray to the gods. Jason has Questions. (And Anxiety.)

    Summary

In the aftermath, a thousand and one deaths flash before his eyes, and Ares feels them all. Every sword. Every spear. Every knife.

Over and over again, he breathes his last breath, sometimes at the hands of another soldier and sometimes at the hands of himself. He stares at his own face, caked in blood and viscera, and hates himself for loving it.

War is his vice of choice. It is his lover. His best friend. His worst enemy. He hates to love it, but no matter how he tries, he can’t seem to escape its clutches.

He’s not quite sure if he really wants to.

    - - -

It’s ironic, isn’t it? Ares hates all of Poseidon’s children with a vengeful fury, and yet, in this new world of Christianity and Capitalism, Perseus Fucking Jackson is the closest thing he has to a priest.
