“Break up vacation. C’mon, baby,” Ricky had simpered in that horribly annoying tone of his. “You deserve to let off some steam after losing the dead weight, and I need a tan and someone to keep me company.”
“You’re paying,” Gyuvin said, giving into the firm press of Ricky’s thumbs working against his traps.
“Of course. Daddy always takes care of you.”
Ricky got hit after that, but they also booked their vacation. A full week, right after Christmas. New Years on a beach instead of knee deep in snow, Gyuvin could never say no to that. He can never say no to Ricky, period.

The way Gyuvin smirks unsettles him. He doesn’t answer immediately — just shrugs the strap of his bag higher up onto his shoulder and shuffles his feet. “Of course, gorgeous. What’s up?”
His volume is usually low, restraint keeping him from being as rowdy and boisterous as the rest of his friends. When he finally speaks, Ricky thinks he can barely hear himself. “It isn’t— You aren’t you anymore. Are you?”
AKA: Ricky spends way too long contemplating something verging on necrophilia.

“Sorry, my god, sorry,sorry” Donghyuck says, fast, mumbled.
Mark looks at him right in the eye, and Donghyuck feels for the first time in a while like he doesn’t catch whatever hides inside Mark’s star-like eyes. It tastes quite unknown on the tip of his tongue, and it disorients him.
Mark slightly pushes him away not short after - he grabs him by the shoulders and puts space in where, before, there wasn’t. And right there and then, still staring him down, Mark smirks a little bit and says
“Oh, so now suddenly because all else fails you've decided to come crawling back to me?"
Donghyuck figures out what Mark’s pupils hide, then.

Mark took the risk, of course. He knew it was a risk to let his forehead fall to Donghyuck’s shoulder as he laughed about something he said.
Even at that moment he knew it was wrong of him to let his guard down because this was Jeno's ex-boyfriend, Jeno was his best friend and Donghyuck had hurt him, but life is a lot more complicated than that.

Mark’s lips pull up at the corners, too, but for a different reason. “Teach me?”
“Yeah,” Donghyuck nods, leaning in to kiss Mark’s cheek. His lips stay pillowed there for a beat too long, like he’s committing the feel to memory, before drawing back and running a thumb over the chapstick-tacky skin. His eyes meet Mark’s, teasing just as much as they are serious. “I can teach you how to touch me.”
(Mark could navigate Donghyuck blind, but he supposes a set of whispered instructions in his ear wouldn’t hurt.)

Mark can barely make eye contact with Donghyuck, who’s face would be hilarious if Mark felt like laughing. “So, let me get this straight,” Donghyuck says slowly, “your mom has been under the impression that we’ve been dating for the last, oh, five or so years; you, given the chance to correct her, did not; and now, you are inviting me to attend your brother’s wedding as your plus one under the guise that we have been dating each other since high school.”
Well, when he puts it that way… “Yeah, that about sums it up.”

Or, Mark and Donghyuck have been best friends forever, so close, in fact, that their parents have thought that they've been dating for years. Mark somehow accidentally on purpose ends up telling his mom that yes of course he's taking Donghyuck to his brother’s wedding. Now, he just has to figure out how act around Donghyuck without making it weird. Oh god, it's not weird, is it?

“Mark—” Donghyuck moves back to look at him, but Mark cuts him off before he can finish.
“Don’t get over me,” he says again, over Bruno Mars, “and if you already did, like me again. Whatever it was that made you like me, I’ll do it again; I’ll do anything. I like you so much, Donghyuck. I really, really do.”
