Ed looks wonderstruck and he swallows hard, seeming as though he's trying to find his voice again. Roy's eyes follow the movement in his throat, mesmerized. "You… The whole time?"
"Yes. How could I not?" Roy begins to slowly move the hand that had been lying still on Ed's neck, fingers sliding down his throat until they can dance across Ed's exposed collarbone. He's unable to tear his eyes away and his voice is no more than a whisper. "I mean… gods, Ed, you're so—"
Ed's fingers are clinging tighter to Roy's shirt now and he sounds a little breathless. "I'm so…?"

Roy's not entirely sure what compels him to follow Fullmetal out of the car. Their conversation seems to have reached its natural end and he doesn't think there's anything more he can say. There are no words to make whatever they're each about to walk into any easier. But there's something about this moment that feels… unfinished; important. Maybe Roy is just finding it hard to accept that he has to let Fullmetal go off on his own into some kind of unspeakable danger—again.
