Summary
It was a two-to-three weeks' journey from Sumeru to Chenyu Vale's Yilong Wharf, where Kaveh was to meet a potential supplier. Alhaitham meant to travel further inland, supposedly to acquire some documents and books he had commissioned a scholar to restore, but really because it had been too many months since his feet had wandered past Sumeru's borders. Kaveh and Alhaitham's schedules and destinations had more-or-less aligned, and so Kaveh had asked, again and again, if they could travel together.
("To save cost?"
"What kind of image do you have of me in your heart!? No, not just to save cost, can't you see I want to travel with you—!?")
For some reason, Alhaitham had at last given in to Kaveh's ceaseless requests.
Kaveh and Alhaitham travel to Chenyu Vale together.

The heat in the tent flushes his cheeks to red, chasing away the chill in his bones, his extremities. The low, orange light emanating from the power source at the tent's centre is warm and welcoming. And of course—
Curled up rather like a cat near that power source, covered in blankets, is Alhaitham.

Summary
Alhaitham lay back down, meaning to go back to sleep. And then he smelled it: a sharp, almost musty smell. He paused, turned his head. With a hunter's gaze, he said: "Come here."
"What? No way, why do I have to listen to you," Kaveh said, even as he stepped over the things he'd dropped and made his way to Alhaitham. "You really think you can just boss me around—"
He stopped talking, because Alhaitham had placed hands on his hips and drew close, sniffing curiously. Ah. So the smell was of Kaveh's arousal.
"Haitham," said Kaveh, voice neutral, "what are you doing?"
