They should be asleep.
That is what Wylan thinks as he hands Jesper the basket packed with things they stole from the kitchen. They should be in bed in different rooms, a few hours into a good night’s sleep by now. Maybe they would be, if they were sensible, or proper in any way.
They aren’t asleep, though. Instead, they’re a little drunk off a bottle of Kaelish whiskey Jesper nabbed from the Crow Club. “Kaz keeps the expensive stuff in the back for particularly wealthy pigeons that like to splurge,” he’d whispered. “I think he thinks I don’t know where it is, but my da taught me to sniff out the good stuff.” And then he’d giggled, and the way his nose scrunched and lips stretched into a silly smile had been so adorable Wylan hadn’t been able to deny him anything. So when he asked if they could get up to the roof, instead of saying “no”, or “we should go to sleep”, he’d said “Let’s find out.”

But Kageyama’s a cool dork, and Shouyou sort of wants to tell him this in a burst of emotion, but the words get stuck. “I want two by the way,” he says instead.
“Why do you get two?”
“Because I,” Shouyou says dramatically, “am your favourite.”
Then he rocks up onto his tippy toes so that he can reach Kageyama’s face, his body moving without consent from his brain. He plants a smooch – quick and playful – on Kageyama’s cheek, only just remembering to add a loud “mwah!” to make sure Kageyama knows that he’s only teasing.

Summary
Wylan Van Eck is the veritable prince of Kerch - an influencer famous thanks to his father's wealth and political status, beloved by many, derided by some, and truly known by very few. Behind closed doors, everything he does is designed to make himself an asset to the Van Eck empire, to make himself something his father might not want but definitely needs to keep around.
Jesper is an up-and-coming actor, not making a splash but well on his way to making ripples, but most of the fortune he should be making is going towards paying off an astronomical amount of gambling debt. After Jan Van Eck makes some questionable comments that are thrown about in the press, his PR team devise a wildly problematic ploy that might just be the answer to Jesper's problems. Six dates over six months, with the boy Jesper grew up seeing lit up on his phone screen. What could go wrong?
