    I LOVE THIS SO MUCH!!! This is a beautiful post-canon fixit for beefleef based on Beauty and the Beast and it fits so well! The internal struggle of BOTH SQX and HX being explored well and the writing being so fluid, humourous, heart-wrenching then heart-warming, this felt like what was missing from the novels and I consider this absolutely canon.

    There are only two things that Heaven fears the most. The first is Hua Cheng, and the second is a drunk Xie Lian.

     

    Jun Wu was momentarily stunned like the many others who were watching along. Ming Yi unexpectedly snickered which Shi Qingxuan was unfortunately too distracted to care about it because of the play. And the two southern generals were covering eachother’s eyes aggressively.

    “Maybe I should get stung again.” Xie Lian commented mindlessly in the murmurs of the crowd. “San Lang was so good with his mouth, I wanna get stung on the thigh next ti—MMHPH!”

    His voice was muffled by the end because Shi Qingxuan had silenced him by smothering his mouth with his palm. “TOO MUCH INFO, YOUR HIGHNESS!”

    Or: A Mid Autumn Festival crackfic where I make everything absolutely haywire because there isn’t enough Drunk XL crack and I needed an outlet.

    Near the end it's more intense than I expected but I guess that's what 800 years does to you. I love the post-canon shenanigans of fengqing in this fic and hualian drips;)

    Not my favourite portrayal of Fengxin but I like how Jianlan is acknowledged. That plus the humour and yummy plot makes this fic feel like it could be canon lol

    In the end, no one can escape their destined fate and Shi Qingxuan was never meant to be a god. Still, he can't leave his brother behind and so he chooses to remain as a ghost even after his death.

    Falling for the one that took his place had never been part of the plan.
