A subset of this is known as brood parasitism, in which a parent will leave their offspring to be raised by another to the detriment or even death of the non-parasitic offspring.
These parents are often fundamentally unable to care for their children, forcing them to rely on another to care for them.
Unicron, as chaos bringer and destroyer of world’s, is in a similar position. He fundamentally cannot care for humanity. However, there is someone who can.
