And he was pretty committed to doing jackshit in this canyon but standing around and talking–and if he had to do it with anyone, he probably would have preferred Church, but Washington seemed like an alright enough guy, under all the freelancer bullshit. Tex hadn’t been bad company, either, on days that they hadn’t annoyed her too much and she loosened up a bit.
If Tucker could make a friend out of Church and make good company with Texas, he could certainly make something decent out of Agent Washington, and he was prepared to be incredibly stubborn about it."

In the dark apartment, with Chuuya in his arms, half delirious and wholly broken, the softness seeps into Dazai’s voice unbidden.
“We’re at your place, I’m going to put you in bed. And you’re going to be nice this time.”
Chuuya hides his face under the coat thrown over him, rests his head against Dazai, and hums.
It could be an agreement, not that it means anything. He’s not really here, not fully, and these things are never nice. Dazai won’t resent him for it.
OR: Dazai takes care of post-corruption Chuuya. Except this time, Arahabaki keeps coming back.

Doing insane work to help parts of the universe that the old Alternian empire once ravaged. It’s admirable. And you- well you’ve stayed stuck on this stupid little planetoid, a broken, retired engine who’s probably not even all there anymore. Why wouldn’t he have found someone better?
You’ve seen a picture of them together. He showed it to you when you were on a call much like the one you’re on now. You recognized the guy, met him briefly on the last shore leave. If you had known then what you know now– you can’t even say you would do anything different. He scowls at you on call, cheeks flushed a deep red. You know he makes him happy.
Still, when he tells you he's inviting his new matesprit to visit with you, your pusher stops.
