Summary
In the year 2957, the remnants of humanity live aboard massive Ark ships traveling through deep space, launched from a dying Earth five centuries earlier, in an effort to preserve the species after destroying the planet. Chief Medical Investigator Maura Isles and Security Investigator Subchief Jane Rizzoli are drawn into what begins as a baffling mystery, but quickly becomes a race against time, when a powered-down maintenance vessel appears one night, seemingly accidentally launched from their own Ark ship, the Ultima Thule, but it soon emerges that the vessel holds impossible secrets that threaten one of the last remaining populations of humanity that exist in the universe.

"I suppose I can make some exceptions," Regina surmises, and she's smirking when she takes out her card and hands it over to Emma. "But my rates are non-negotiable, Miss...?"
Emma swallows. "Swan. Emma Swan."
"Miss Swan," Regina repeats. "My number is listed on the back. Give me a call if you ever feel like putting that talent to good use."

Summary
Part One: Rise From the Ashes: Ch 1-11: Slow build, Hogwarts AU Years 1-7, melding canon w/ a little canon divergence in that Bellatrix, like Snape, was offered a second chance by Dumbledore and has taught at the school ever since. As the years progress and tensions build, she faces the difficult intersection of her two identities, the different parts she plays in other people's games, and the trauma of her past that often threatens to untether her entirely. Snape is still a character in the story, but Bellatrix takes on a lot of his roles/storyline in canon. As for Hermione, in her first few years, she can't help but look up to her brilliant, yet complicated professor. As she gets older, by the time she realizes her feelings have evolved into something more...it's already too late to turn away, not that she'd even want to.
Part Two: Reignite: Ch 12-?: Hermione returns to Hogwarts two years after the end of the war with Voldemort. Some things have changed, some things haven't. Bellatrix finally gets to try her hand at teaching Defense Against the Dark Arts. Attraction blooms and temptation is tested. Updates Wednesdays.
