You stumble, then say to Batman, “You need to take him to his dad. Bruce Wayne. He needs…” You suck in a breath, tasting copper. Your vision is going red and blur-black, fuzzing out on you. “He needs him.”
For a moment, you make eye contact with Batman through the holes in his mask. Even through the smoke and darkness, you can see the crystal-clear blue of his eyes, and you focus on that in the brief instant before you can’t see anything anymore.
