Luke gets the message from the child in the early evening.
It’s spring on Yavin, and the wind smells like the glowing purple blossoms that cluster in the corners of old rooms and spring up through the pavement. The air is heavy with twilight, the orange-violet of the sky creeping its way down, filtering through the new-leafed boughs and down to where he’s sitting under a tree.
or Luke takes Grogu, but the sundering on the lightcruiser isn't an ending; it's a beginning.

Summary
Overnight, the east-facing outer wall of the Jedi temple became choked in twisting vines again, even though Luke and Din spent all of last week hacking them back. But the tangle returned with a perseverance bordering on stubbornness, thicker than Din remembers it as the mass clings to the stone like a lover. Today, they use the lightsaber and the darksaber, and after a few good sizzles, the vines wither and retreat. Din almost feels guilty as he watches them shrink in on themselves and spring back into the jungle like coiled metal—it’s as if they’ve been scorned, heartbroken. And it’s a stupid thing to think, but this new quiet life with his son and his son’s Jedi has made him soft, made him into the sort of man who sees love stories where there’s nothing but weeds.

You try your damnedest to burn it out, but Luke’s face sticks in your head. Lingers like a whiff of ozone, and no matter how hard you try to forget it when you close your eyes behind the visor of your helmet, there’s the haunting outline of his lips mapped out in your head like a constellation. His mouth. His eyes. His single bare hand, ever so gently cupped around Grogu’s body like he knew how important it was to you that he be touched like he was precious.
And it must have worked, because you let Grogu go with him. Maybe that’s why you can’t stop thinking about that moment—how it felt to hold unwavering and long sustained eye contact with a man for perhaps the first time in the whole of your lonely life.

The first comm message comes while Din's sitting in the hotel room, trying to get the kid to settle down after eating lunch so he can have an hour to work on cleaning his armor properly. He doesn't recognize the number, but Bo-Katan had said her contact would be in touch, though this is earlier than expected. By the time he's finished reading it, Bo-Katan is messaging him as well, a quick string of short messages that come in one after another.
Bo-Katan says, "Call me first," and "Call me now," and "This is extremely important," and "I pulled a lot of strings for this and you cannot afford to blow this off," and "Djarin, if you even think of trying to escape, I will track you down and stab you at least five times, I karking well mean it."

Summary
The Mandalorian unclips the Darksaber from his belt, holds it with an almost unsure grip, pommel out to Luke. He politely ignores the way Luke’s eyes bug out of his head at the sight of it in his palm.
“What do you want me to do with it?” he asks, mind racing. What in the hells is going on right now?
“Nothing, really,” the Mandalorian replies, tilting Luke even farther on his already shifted axis. He holds it out again, further this time. Shaking it at Luke a bit.
Wiggling a centuries old, ridiculously powerful, emblem-of-an-entire-people relic at him, like it’s nothing. Huddled next to him by the fire while the kid they share custody of snoozes away in his bed fifteen steps away.
Luke takes it. He’s not sure what else to do.

Grogu stretches his arms out a tad bit further and then giggles before attempting to tackle Din into a hug. Din gives up in mock surrender, stretching his arms out to his side.
“This is how much I love you,” he says. “Quite a bit bigger. Not that it’s a competition.”
During a difficult mission, Grogu uses Luke to express to Din how much he loves him. The game brings them all closer together.

“That’s Aurebesh. If you didn’t have a habit of killing everyone who can read it, you wouldn’t need me.”
“Now, Luke. Most of those deaths were accidental. And I’d rather have you working with us than against us.”
“Got a key? You wouldn’t let on to me that you had this if not.”
Krennic grins, and pulls a pendant out of his shirt. The blue crystal glints in the low light.
Luke whistles.
“Can I see?”
“No funny business”
“Who? Me?”
Luke picks up a loupe and holds the crystal up to the lens; Aurebesh glimmers inside the facets.
Krennic leans over the table.
“So. You in?”

Treasure hunting isn't really the family business. So Han smuggles the artefacts that Luke finds & Leia fences them, but they all have different priorities, alright?
Luke's is finishing what his father started.
When an old adversary gets a lead on the fabled artefact that he's been searching his whole life for; Luke has to follow it.

“Mayfeld said you were a hard ass today,” Malk says, amused and Din shrugs.
“I’m always a hard ass.” He says, and the rest of them roar with laughter. Din doesn’t think it was that funny. He lets them talk over him for a while and suddenly gets that feeling again.
“Hey,” he says, “-do you guys feel… have you noticed something weird going on?”
“What, besides every normal fucking day?”
“No.” Din huffs, frustrated. “-I just feel like… something’s not right.”
They all look at eachother.
“You’ve been on shift for too long, Mando.” Malk says.
“Yeah.” Qin says, “-you’re losing it.”

It’s easy to get spooked on your first shift out on the rig. The close quarters, the endless days, the isolation, the unfathomable vastness of the sea.
Except, Mando’s no rookie. Just trying to keep his head down and work; he gets the sense that something’s not quite right. Well, something else besides his mysterious roommate he knows nothing about.

“Does the floating take up more…. force power?” Din asks, as he watches Skywalker meditate, hovering over the floor of the shuttle they find themselves in, “-‘Cause I can turn off the gravity systems if you want.”
Skywalker opens one eye to look at him, mid-air.
“I can’t tell if that’s a joke or not.”
“I’d never joke about the force.” Din says, seriously. “-mostly because I don’t understand it.”
Skywalker snorts to himself, even though it truly wasn’t a joke.
He stops meditating, fluidly getting his legs under him without floating back to the floor.
“The Force doesn’t work like that.” He says, “-dunno know whether I should try to explain it.”
Din shrugs.
“Up to you. I wouldn’t understand any of it, probably. But. It’s not like my schedule is full.”
Skywalker snorts again.
“Well, according to the computer, I have about a week or so to explain it to you, so, a bit of a time crunch.”

After the Civil war took it’s own pound of flesh from the house's dwellers, the nearby town wondered if the hall would ever have an occupant again.
But one did arrive.
No one knew anything about him- a hard man, recently moved with his young son from out West. Rumours swirled about the man and boy both.
The man a blackguard at best, a devil at worst.
And a succession of governesses and tutors all said the same about the boy.
There was something wrong with him.
He screams bloody murder in the middle of the night.
One night, after the arrival of a new tutor, does it become apparent just how much is wrong.

“Why, Mando,” Prince Amidala says, “- I didn’t realise you were a romantic.”
“I’m not.” Mando snips, and Luke is just so surprised at this revelation. “-but I think a marriage, the creation of your clan, should be afforded a little respect, arranged or not.”
“Well, your Mand’alor has not afforded me the respect of even meeting me,” Luke shrugs, “- fair’s fair, wouldn’t you say?”

After the fall of the empire which subjugated them both, the kingdoms of Coruscant and Mandalore are embroiled in a territorial dispute. Locked in a state of cold war, the uneasy truce is tested when Prince Luke Amidala is captured by Mandalore.
Neither side wants to be dragged into another conflict while still healing and facing internal treachery, so a treaty is drawn.
A treaty that hinges on an arranged marriage between Luke and the Mand’alor, whom the pacifist Prince has never met, despite months of captivity.
Accompanied by a group of Mandalorian knights once the treaty is signed, Luke sets sail back to Coruscant to prepare for the wedding; with the looming threat of the notorious pirate, the Red Hand, threatening their voyage.
