    When Obi-Wan got back from Naboo, things were...different. The Jedi council had never been so cold to him, but his friends were the same as ever. Grappling with the death of his Master and the young boy he'd promised to raise, he didn't have much time to reflect on it. If he fought hard against the rising darkness, he could beat it back and only use the light. If he closed his eyes in front of the mirror, he didn't have to see their new yellow color. If he just ignored it, it would all go away.
    Right?

    (Obi-Wan kills Maul on Naboo. This changes everything and nothing.)

    “I know you,” says Obi-Wan desperately, like he’s trying to force some greater meaning into it, some huge understanding, like he’s teetering on the edge of a precipice and lunging for a guiderope just out of reach. Obi-Wan reaches out as his nose begins to bleed. Obi-Wan’s hand finds his temple. It stings. It stings. He does not know why. Obi-Wan cups his face, and, just for a moment, a surge of recognition blooms, bright and beautiful and alien. “I know you,” he says, softly, gently. “Cody. Cody.”

    It is then that Cody passes out.

    It was such a strange thing to say. Rex leaned back. "What?"

    Cody pushed the 'pad over. It was an article. No - an obituary. An extensive one, published to one of the more popular news outlets out of Coruscant. Just about ten, ah, thirteen years ago. Funny coincidence.

    "Who is this?" Rex asked before further inquiry died on this tongue.
    A headshot of the man in question showed up when he scrolled. Long, greying hair, partially tied back. A surprisingly calm expression, crow’s feet and a beard.

    "Qui-Gon Jinn." [...]

    That was a familiar face. He knew that face.
