She flinched and swallowed. The words felt abrasive in that order, spoken in his deep voice. But, somehow, he didn’t sound repulsed by them.
“On my breaks, technically, but…yes.”
His lips pressed together and his eyes danced around as he thought about it for another second, but then he shrugged.

Benjamin Solo hadn’t always been abhorrent.
There had been a time, long ago, when he would smile freely and laugh until he couldn’t breathe. When he would grab her hand, so small within his even then, and together they’d run through fields of grass and wildflowers.
Those memories felt tainted now, in the wake of his glares and his sharp tongue.
Now, Benjamin Solo wasn’t just abhorrent. He was an unfeeling, unabashed rake with a soul black as a country night and no heart to speak of. He was the worst person Rey had ever had cause to interact with. And, most repulsively, he was now her bloody fiancé.
