He sights you, and you can tell you’re immediately in his crosshairs, sighted like prey spotted by a predator. You freeze accordingly, a half-rolled shirt in your hands.
By the time he’s already running, you’ve only managed to get out, “Adrian—”
—and then he’s slamming into you, tackling you backwards onto the bed with a bounce, displacing the stack of laundry you’d set just too close to the edge about a minute and a half ago. It’s already forgotten, spilling across the floor, as Adrian pins you to the mattress.
“Hi,” he says excitedly, grinning, wriggling to wrap his limbs all around you.
