Bang! Mike flinches back as a plastic tray drops onto the table between them, shattering the moment into tiny fragments that he knows he won't be able to pick back up again.
He tenses at the sight of the food in front of him: slimy, greasy pizza with chunks of pineapple on top. It looks back at him, judging him. Nausea swirls in his gut as he scowls at it. Is he supposed to eat this?
Or: Mike's thoughts around the pizza Argyle and El had him eat and his struggles with food.

"Mike," Will breathed, the name barely escaping his lips.
Mike wanted to speak. He had a thousand things he wanted to say—I'm sorry, I'm so sorry, please don't hate me, I missed you so much—but his throat was completely dry. No sound came out.
Or, after the final battle, Mike falls into a depression and locks himself in his room. Will comes by every day, but Mike won't let him in. After two months, Mike finally opens the door.
