One: That dog is a rare and beautiful coy-dog, aka: a half-dog, half-coyote. Can he pet it?
Two: In order to pet the coy-dog (assuming he’s friendly), he’s going to have to talk to that rare and beautiful man. Can he do it?
Three: His MasterShake has yet to arrive. Will the good people of the Sonic Drive-In know where to deliver his shake if he gets out of his car? It’s a risk he’s willing to take.

“You fucking this guy?” The answer was obvious. He just wanted to know for himself.
Qifrey snorted. “Does that make you jealous?” He asked, bringing his wine glass to his lips.
Olruggio scoffed. “No. I mean I was seeing this girl sometime ago anyway, you know.”
Not really. A disaster of a fling that ended with her walking out mid hookup. There were more attempts. They didn’t go anywhere.
“I didn’t ask if you were seeing anyone Olly.” Qifrey reminded him, smug. “But if you did, good for you.”
Dick. Olruggio wanted to reach for that ashen gray hair and pull as hard as he could, then he remembered about the we’re open part, fixating on that.
“He just lets you… sleep with whoever you want?”
“He just wants me. He can have me. But if I want something else,” Qifrey murmured, his foot trailing up Olruggio’s leg. “I can have it."
Returning to the atelier means working alongside Qifrey again — strictly as colleagues. Except Qifrey has moved on, built a life Olruggio doesn't recognize, and somehow that's the part he can't leave alone.

Summary
"Qifrey, you…" Olruggio sucks a steadying breath through his teeth, and lifts Qifrey's hand, pressing lips to the back. He closes his eyes, and speaks, words exhaled against skin. "You may take everything from me, but one thing."
"Your soul? Your self?" Qifrey means to joke, but it comes out broken and hollow; a tree struck by lightning and scorched so fiercely that nothing is left within it, and it's good for nothing but a greedy hearth in winter.
"Love." The word comes with a soft kiss left to Qifrey's wrist. When Qifrey doesn't move—how can he?—Olruggio's lips grace fingertips, and another kiss is left to his palm. "You cannot take love from me, and it is the one thing I'll give you. It's the one thing I haven't forgotten—you kept it there, a seed of its own."
- If Olruggio's love is to be Qifrey's death, then let it be a burden instead, in favour of life.

"What can I give you?" Olruggio murmurs, gentle against the corner of Qifrey's mouth. The soft sound of the stopper undone fills the quiet. Oil drips onto Olruggio's fingers and residue drips onto the smooth planes of Qifrey's belly, cold.
Qifrey tenses beneath Olruggio, breaths coming short, as he lifts hips up. "Take me."
And take Olruggio does, but he is gentle—frustratingly so. Fingers ease into the softness of Qifrey's body, as if roughness will shatter him. Desire burns beneath Qifrey's skin and he runs nails across Olruggio's shoulders, heels settled into his lower back, as he seeks more.
- Returning from Silver Eve drunk off wine, Qifrey confesses love upon Olruggio's lips, knowing that come morning, all will be wiped clean from memory.
