The pair sat on a hilltop, looking out over the sprawling plains and enjoying the warm breeze off the sea.
“Ah, as it sounds, a soulmate is the mate of your soul. Two beings who complete each other and are irrevocably tied to one another.” Morax looked off into the sky with soft eyes. “Those lucky enough to have one will have a thin red thread tied on their left hand, which will connect to the other half.”
Xiao looked at him skeptically.
Xiao was not always called 'Xiao', he was not always so content with his duties, but he has always had the red thread tied around his finger leading to someone who will love him more than he could ever imagine. He just has to survive long enough to find them.
