They decided to stay in because Kacchan wasn't feeling his best. Not that Kacchan would ever admit it, but Izuku immediately knew his grumpy boyfriend needed to rest after he descended down the stairs that morning wearing one of Izuku’s lost (not longer lost, but in Kacchan’s possession) hoodies. One look at his puffy eyes and adorable red, runny nose and it was obvious that Kacchan had been victim of a winter cold.
Or
Kacchan was sick and his sweet, devoted boyfriend was more than happy to take care of him... in any way he needed.

“Uhm…Are you okay, Kacchan? You…don’t look so good,”
“What are you talking about? I look great.”
“Of course, Kacchan! You always look great! I mean uhm. You look…sick, though.”
“I’m fine! Now shut yer trap and let—”
Katsuki went into a bad coughing fit before he could even finish his sentence. As he started to walk towards the steps, he stumbled slightly and almost fell down them. Izuku grabbed onto him so he wouldn’t fall.
“Kacchan! No! you are sick, you need to rest!”
“I don’t need rest!”
“Yes, you do!”
Katsuki tried to get out of his grasp and walk past him, but Izuku wasn’t having it. He grabbed him up by his waist and dragged him inside, Katsuki fighting him with the little energy he seemed to have.
“Get offa me, Izuku! Don’t make me explode your ass into next week!”
“I said no, Kacchan!”

Katsuki was determined to make Izuku’s birthday this year the best yet.
That is, until he got sick.
But…to Izuku, maybe it still will be?
