“Holy shit, dude,” Hayden whispers, too loudly, as he pulls Shane away. “No way you were just talking to Ilya Rozanov.”
“Uh, yeah. We just met. Wait, did he lie to me?” Shane asks, looking back over his shoulder where Ilya is now standing next to a short but very muscular woman with long black hair. “What does he play?”
Hayden stops, so Shane does too.
“You don’t know who that was?”
Shane makes a face that says ‘no shit’, and waits for an answer.
“Dude. You are so innocent. Ilya Rozanov, ‘Russia’s Greatest Love Machine’?” Hayden says, like it’s obvious.
Shane looks at him blankly, and then Hayden laughs. Not like, a chuckle. He full on cackles, bending over like he can’t even contain it. “Man, he’s like prolific.”
“At what?” Shane snaps, because he’s getting really sick of not being in on the joke.
“He’s a porn star, man.”
“A-” Shane says, swallowing thickly. “What?”

The gallop of Sam’s heart slows, and the tightness in his lungs eases so suddenly that it’s like he’s gone buoyant, ready to float away without the help of any wings. Barnes turns as if he can sense Sam looking at him, and when he meets Sam’s eyes, he smiles, and it’s the brightest damn thing on this battlefield, a shock of sweetness in the midst of so much dark bitterness and confusion. Imagine writing the most touching and sexy fic ever and then sharing it with the world because you know you cooked! That’s what this story is. Sam and Bucky are so fond of one another here and Sam has this most sincere yet delusional way of trying to fight back against the inevitable. Like the love of his life breaks into his house to take care of him while he’s sick and he’s just like “gotta keep it casual” like babe- 😂 it’s been not casual! That’s your man, you love him😭. And then Bucky 😩 oh Bucky, he didn’t even have to pretend he knew Sam was it for him. That final scene>>> amazing!!

The Asset has been trying to figure out the way forward since it left Captain Rogers on the riverbank. The body won’t comply; the mind won’t either and it is cowering in a small wet inlet on the riverbank.
