Summary
"Remus?” Peter sounded afraid. “What’s going on?”
“Don’t freak out.” Remus repeated, voice tinny down the phone. “But I’m at the hospital." Sirius’s chest went tight, his next inhale strangled. Before he could even ask, Remus rushed on. “It's not me." A small flicker of relief flared to life, but it died all too quickly, snuffed out by Remus's next words. "But James got hurt, at football. They’re worried he hit his head.”
Sirius's world narrowed, then.
All of them have more than enough reason to hate hospitals. Their history makes it hard to be there for James when he's hurt — but they all do it anyway.
