Hizashi leans against Shouta’s side as he handles the purchase, enjoying having him close and feeling the vibrations of him talking with the cashier; he’s so caught up in being with him that he almost misses the smile on the cashier’s face and her saying something that causes Shouta’s ears to turn pink.
As they walk out of the store, Hizashi bends a little to catch his eye, curious. What’d she say?
Shouta ducks his head (pouting), and almost shyly raises his hands to tell him, She said we looked like a cute couple.

What was he supposed to say? Got distracted because I saw you through the window during my nightly pass by your apartment and I was overcome by the need to feel how soft your hair were ?
“...Got distracted,” he finished lamely, keeping the rest of that explanation to himself.
“By what?” Hizashi sounded incredulous, tilting his head slightly, another strand of hair falling onto his face.
