Your soulmate was, supposedly, your other half. A person that would compliment your life in a way you would only know if you had met them. Yet, like everything in Komaeda’s life, all wonderful events were inevitably going to produce horrific ones. So the universal law that you would cause your soulmate pain if you were hurt yourself wasn’t something he questioned in the slightest.
Hinata, on the other hand, had several gripes with the whole soulmate shtick. Especially considering some person he didn’t even know was causing him innumerable pain. Was having someone you were destined to get along with really all that fantastic when all you could share with them was hurt?
Despite their varying levels of acceptance of the inescapability of soulmates, there’s one thing they both agreed on above all.
