But he always ends up like this; alone and frying his brain off before he even has any fun. Murdoc gets the sense that 2-D might not actually know how to go clubbing properly, or in any case, doesn't really enjoy it much. What's supposed to be a steady mix of people, drugs, sex, social mind games and music often becomes just the drugs. It seems sooner or later he always ends up on the floor in the bathroom. Wretching and coughing his lungs up.

All 2D had to do was act like everything was the way it was ten years ago and pretend he was happy and make it seem like there was nothing on earth he’d rather do than stand here with Murdoc.
Murdoc would eat it right up. He knew that for a fact because, on his transmitter, he was able to pick up bits and pieces of Murdoc’s radio show. He knew how lonely Murdoc was.
Locked on Plastic Beach with everything he's scared of, 2D knows he won't get off the island alive unless he starts taking control of his fears - including Murdoc.
