Harry did not belong here — he could feel it in every cell of his body. This strange world rejected his very being, and Harry had no intention of staying in it, let alone forming attachments. Time itself would not notice as he bent it backwards. Harry would find his way home — to his friends and Sirius — even if magic stood against him. -

Each sunrise marked the beginning of the hunt for Visitors within his own house; each sunset meant Russian roulette for the lost souls who had stumbled onto his threshold.
Paranoia now ruled his mind. Every face seemed hostile; every stranger schemed or concealed something — every one thirsted for blood. He only wanted protection.
And to protect — but could the gunpowder on his fingers, his sleepless nights, his iron grip on the shotgun really change anything?
If they could hold on to anything as the world burned out, he would have wished to keep those dark eyes — and the wordless, wholehearted conversations of touches, smiles, and glances, something that meant more to them than words ever could.
What they had had made him alive again — and perhaps that would be enough to make death turn its gaze aside for just a moment. And a moment was all they asked for.

Если же они могли уберечь хоть что-то из этого догорающего мира, он хотел бы уберечь эти тёмные глаза — и бессловесные, всеобъемлющие разговоры прикосновениями пальцев, улыбками и взглядами, — то, что было у них, лучше и больше, чем слова.
То, что было у них, сделало его живым снова, — и, может быть, этого будет достаточно, чтобы убедить смерть отвести от него взгляд хотя бы на мгновение — им хватит и этого.

“You can’t,” Eddie says, pulling a shirt over his head. “You lasted ten minutes after Robin told you she liked Nancy.”
“That doesn’t count,” Eddie already knew Robin was a lesbian and Steve is pretty sure anyone who knows Robin knows she likes Nancy. The girl basically has cartoon hearts in her eyes anytime Nancy Wheeler is in a room. “You knew that already!”
