“And he couldn’t come to me,” Arthur sighed sadly.
“Not with *that* word in his mind, in his ear. Not knowing the fury it could invoke in you. He didn’t want to hurt you.”
“So you kissed him instead, thinking that would hurt less?” Arthur accused harshly.
“No, I kissed him so he’d take me seriously. Words weren’t getting me anywhere. The two of you have been fighting this battle for *years*- so they haven’t gotten *you* anywhere, either. I knew it was time to be done with words. And I didn't overly much care at the time how *you* would feel about it. Summary
Merlin can’t remember the last time he’s locked his bedroom door, if ever. But he chooses not to think about it. He merely sulks his way back to his bed, taking a moment to contemplate taking off his trousers and tunic from the night before. He decides not to think about that either.
Instead, he decides not to think at all. He just falls back into his bed, covers up his body more so in shame than for warmth, and closes his eyes.
Basically Merlin is sexually assaulted and this story follows how he and everyone else deals with it.
Spoiler alert: THEY DON'T HANDLE IT WELL.
