Turns out running doesn't fix your problems; it makes them bigger. (If you haven't read my bellaxjake fic, don't fret! you can do that! Especially chapter 35. And this story will make much more sense. Also, I'm terrible at summaries.)

"... Because seeing Bella, no matter what the circumstances, was always a good thing. Even as she was then, all hollowed out and pale, like a ghost. She was shockingly thin, with dark bags under her eyes framed by flat, dark hair hanging limply on the sides of her face. Her eyes, which had once shone with delight and flashed with intuition, now stood as two decaying statues of an old, forgotten monument, crumbling against gravity and the wars which left their empire to rot.
Her face lit dimly with a spark of enthusiasm, and the edges of her mouth twitched up in a poor mockery of her old grin.
“Hey, Jacob!” Her smile widened and became more familiar.

I took issue with how smeyer treated my boy, as many of us have, and I took it upon myself to re-write the series from Jacob's POV and fix some of the problems I had. This is basically a head canon of how I would write twilight, were I ever given such a job - which I would like to clarify; nobody asked for this. JacobxBella AU where Jake imprints but it's sorta... different? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

“Enough!” Draven bellows, bringing the room to silence. “This is not productive. If Princess Organa has sanctioned this mission with the permission of the remaining council then it’s decided. Erso, do you accept?”
All eyes fall on Jyn. Cassian stares at her with the intensity of a blaster shot, burning in her peripheral vision but Leia looks softer, almost pleading.
Damnit
When Han Solo screws up a supply run, Leia takes it upon herself to clean up his mess and ropes Jyn into a mission on Hosnian Prime, much to Cassian Andor's chagrin. There's no reason for him to worry about her, Jyn thinks. They're definitely just friends after all...but when Solo approaches Cassian with a plan to help, against his better judgment, he can't help but go along with the holo drama his life is turning into...

Jyn takes her time with things, and there’d be few other people in the Alliance who’d recognize the softness in her voice now, as she asks, “What happens if I touch you?”
The faint smile that’d been on his mouth, as well as any last lingering traces of amusement, all fade away, into something both softer and more serious, a mirror of what she’s giving him. He leans in through the space that remains between them, and, just as softly, presses his lips to hers. “I’m not stopping you,” he murmurs then, pulling back. “It’s your choice.”

Summary
It’s May 1979 and the Order has just apprehended a pair of mysterious wizards who look remarkably like a Potter and a Malfoy. Naturally, James Potter and Sirius Black are called in to identify the strangely familiar strangers and determine their backgrounds and loyalties.
(This would be a lot easier if their captives weren’t convinced everyone they talk to is dead. It would also be easier if they didn’t spend half their bloody time bickering.)

She dies on the beach, in his arms. It isn’t the first time. It isn’t even the second. “We’re trapped,” she tells him, blood bubbling up between her lips. His fingers spasm on her wound and he shushes her, his voice shaking. She draws a shuddering breath that rattles in her lungs. “It’s my turn, but it’ll be yours, next. We’re trapped here.”
Or: Jyn has to keep reliving Scarif until she gets it right.
