   Summary

   One hot summer day in 1777, John Laurens entered Washington's headquarters in order to accept his position as an aide de camp. Little did he know that this would draw him into a complicated web of lies, intrigue, and even murder, all before the new country was even born.

   Between a scheming Henry Laurens, the sudden arrival of one Nathan Hale who seems to come bearing truths that no one is ready to hear, new friends who are clearly hiding more than they are letting on, and even the possibility of a romance, John Laurens is about to be forced to face his demons to see if he is really willing to fight for what he believe in.
