    Summary

This earns Apollo an incredibly unimpressed. “And walk in the cold without a drink to warm me?”

The god of the sun feigns hurt. “You have a personal heater right here, and you instead demand hot chocolate over my own body heat?” He squeaks and moves back when Percy flicks his nose.

“We’re in public, Apollo.” He warns him as he walks. The god huffs, taking his hand and lifting it to his mouth to press a kiss to it again.

“Fine, fine, if my pearl requires a hot chocolate to make the journey to the bottom of the hill, we can make a stop. Though I will be honest with you, it’s the hot chocolate I am most worried about.” He guides Percy to an insanely colourful building.

    Summary

Her son’s soulmark, the one held closest to his heart, had a soft, golden glow peeking out from underneath the medical bandages. The glow seemed to become brighter, though not overpowering. Soft, comforting light. It reminded her of the sun, in a way.

As her eyes adjusted, she found she couldn’t have been more right.

Over her son’s heart spells the name Apollo, in gold cursive. The font shimmered, almost glittering as her son shifted on the bed. Every stroke of every letter seems purposeful, carefully branding her son. Out from behind the name is the image of a sun. A lyre is also depicted, and if Sally pays close enough attention, the strings seem to move slightly, as though someone is playing it.

    Summary

Percy knew it wasn’t a good idea for him to accompany Thalia and Annabeth to Westover Hall. He couldn’t explain it to them—not without spilling a whole host of secrets—but a feeling of cold dread filled his bones every time he thought about their upcoming trip.

Not to mention, Percy’s dreams the week leading up to the mission had been full of snowy cliffs and long falls in which he always woke before he hit the ground. The two children of Hades crouched on the edge of the cliff, cowering from something Percy never managed to see. He always saw himself, though, placing himself between the two demigods and whatever had them trapped on the edge of a cliff.

Every dream ended with a fall, and Percy woke up sure he was about to smash into the ground hard enough to break every bone in his body.

Nothing good would come from Westover Hall, Percy knew, but Grover had asked for help, and Percy could never ignore a friend in need.

He was beginning to think he should learn how to, though.

    Summary

Oxford Languages defines briar as “any of a number of prickly scrambling shrubs, especially the sweetbrier and other wild roses.”

    ***

Briar Theodore Evans was born the 30th of January, 1960 at 8:32 pm. A whole 6 minutes before Lily Jane Evans, who followed at precisely 8:38 pm. This wasn’t how it was supposed to happen. At least, it’s not how Briar remembered it happening when he read the books. Not that there was much he could remember about Harry Potter’s parents anymore. It had been years and they were such a small part. . .

    Or

Briar may’ve come preloaded with the memories of a 23 year old—who once held a close to encyclopedic knowledge of the Harry Potter Series—but that does little to actually help him become powerful enough to fight Voldemort. He’s only capable of so much while stuck with a child’s brain and forced to grow up in 1960s & 70s Cokeworth England. Not to mention his less than ideal socio-political positions in, not just one, but two new worlds.

Struggling to gain enough power and knowledge to save Lily, Briar fights to reach his only life goal.

If only other people would stop distracting him. . .

(Now with a time skip in ch. 11)
