Summary
Of all the names he's been before, Neil Josten has stuck around too long already. He's shifty, and silent, and more shadow than man. Cursed to never lay eyes on his own reflection or risk his father finding him, Neil has been running in his mother's shadow as long as he can remember.
With his mother's death, Neil is tired of running. Tired of hiding his magic from the elusive Raven King's many eyes, and tired of being alone. His last chance is in the hands of the degenerate Foxhole Court, where Neil must find a way to save himself from his past. Matters are complicated by an escaped ravenkeeper, a family he never asked for, and the ever sturdy presence of Andrew Minyard, who has sworn to watch Neil's every move.

Summary
“It’s a sex towel.”
Individually, the words have meaning. Neil parses through them one at a time, trying to find where they fit together to create a larger whole. He glances down at Andrew’s fingers curled in his shirt, stretching the already thin fabric. Looking up means meeting Andrew’s eyes straight-on, making his stomach swoop at all the flecks of gold and green picked out among honey brown.
He shakes off his distraction and tries to make sense of what Andrew has said.
“You think this towel is sexy?”
While folding laundry, Neil is reminded he has earned a life without struggle. If only Andrew would say so in a way he can understand.

This was the best and worst part. Renee was patience made flesh. Not to mention an absolute vixen, no matter the soft smiles and white robes.
