Life, death, purpose, hope, struggles, darkness and light, humanity, and love. I’ve just taken them and played with them in a way I like, while still sticking to canon as best I can (until later installments which will diverge).

you ran your fingers through his hair. it was soft. messy and knotted, but soft nonetheless. humming quietly under your breath, enjoying your bound to be short lived peace. after all, the second he woke up, the show would be on the road. the stage was set. all that’s left was to draw the curtains.
dazai’s eyes fluttered open, slowly attempting to get used to the dim lighting. one by one his senses awoke. taking in the damp musk of the basement, the dull overhead light, and the soft dripping from somewhere in another room. and of course the feeling of your hands running through his hair and the ropes knotted around his limbs, securing him to the floor.
