He wasn’t even supposed to spend the night - she’d told him as much in the morning as she asked him to leave, didn’t even offer him an empty 'maybe I’ll see you around, sometime.' Just a one time thing, a clean break. But a few hours later, she’d gone in search of breakfast and noticed the bright yellow sticky note above her doorknob, with his full name and phone number scrawled across the middle and a smiley face in one corner.
She rolled her eyes, dropped it onto the stack of papers on her drafting table, and told herself she would throw it away later.
But - for some reason that Annabeth can’t quite rationalize - she never did.

“‘Wanted’?” Percy clarifies, eyebrows furrowed. “Did you already do it?”
“I’m doing it every day,” she answers enigmatically, a different kind of smile on her face that he can’t place. “It was nice meeting you, Percy. Thanks for walking me home.”

Edward Elric was dead. Like, fully dead. Heart no longer beating, massive blood loss, soul exiting this mortal plane, type of dead. However, that apparently wasn’t enough to make him stop existing. Ed just wants to rest goddamnit, but Truth is being a right bastard about the whole situation.
Or, Ed dies, but unbeknownst to his friends and family, his soul sticks around. He makes do for several years — until an alchemist performs human transmutation to try and bring him back to life. The crazy thing is… it works. Sort of.

Neither of them move. Neither of them look away. Tears roll down her cheeks, just as gloom drips from his. And for the first time since Zelda woke at Lookout Landing, the world crystallizes around her.

Summary
Neither Link or Zelda had a chance to respond before the mummy held its hands over its chest and gathered the smoke-like gloom that seeped from its chest. With a guttural roar, it raised its arms. The gloom surged upwards and violently collided with the cavern ceiling above.
Zelda could only stare in horror before the ground cracked underneath her feet. She gasped, stumbled back, and fell backward. Link jumped after her, face twisted in panic and pain, and reached out to her with his damaged arm. They just brushed fingertips before Zelda felt herself come to an abrupt stop in the air, and Link fell past her. He twisted in the air, trying to grab onto her outstretched arm, but to no avail.
“Link!” Zelda screamed, watching in horror as Link tumbled into the depths below, swallowed by the darkness.
After that, she felt a tug on her arm, and the world went white.

Or: a TOTK AU in which neither Link or Zelda are sent back in time. Instead, Link is trapped in the Depths with a corrupted arm, and Zelda is brought to the Great Sky Island by Rauru, tasked with saving Hyrule and finding Link before he's overtaken by gloom.- Language:

After drawing the Master Sword, a spotlight-averse Link must adjust to his sudden promotion to knighthood and his new role as the protector of a princess who is unexpectedly hostile to him. This story begins as a prequel to BOTW, adds depth to the storyline of BOTW and continues on through to TOTK. Ch. 10: Link has fallen on Blatchery Plain. His spirit, left floating in the space between life and death, is given the choice to move on... or return to the world of the living after a long slumber in the Shrine of Resurrection, to complete his mission to destroy Calamity Ganon.
