Chopper is used to being alone. That is what was safe for everyone else. He'd only ever made two exceptions in the matter, and both of them were now under his father's radar because of him. He knows they deserve better. He knows he doesn't deserve them. But, he will do whatever he can to protect those he loves.

Summary
Before he can stop himself, his hand is already moving to caress Pat's face. His boyfriend unconsciously leans into the touch, and Pran feels his heart skip a beat. Even in sleep, he seems to gravitate towards Pran.
With nothing else to do, Pran starts to draw little shapes onto Pat's cheek and giggles when his canvas mumbles in response.
