Both pursued intangible things on the regular, to wholly unhealthy degrees, after all - Azul, servant to his wish to prove those around him wrong, seeking money, contracts – power and control… amongst other things. Idia, always chasing a level-up, hiding away within the material-immaterial. They were both alone, and together they were only lonely.
They were also terrible, terrible liars, as evidenced by the previous line.
