“It looks like there’s a small ship approaching but the fog is too thick to make out how well armed it is. You think it’ll pass by, Ed?”
Ed hummed as he looked through the spyglass. It was true that it was hard to make out detail on the approaching vessel but Ed could tell it was roughly the same size as the Revenge. “I wouldn’t bet on it. I’d get everyone prepared for a potential boarding. It’s possible we can intimidate them enough that they’ll leave us alone. But if we’ve been becalmed I’m certain they have too and a bored crew is a dangerous one.” Ed studied the ship again and his heart dropped. He whipped his head around looking at the ocean then back at the Revenge and back to the ocean again. Stede watched the color drain from his face and panic blossom behind his eyes. Before Stede could say anything Ed turned and looked him in the eyes.
“Get below deck now!” Ed ordered.
Inspired by Jordan Peele’s movie Us. Don’t ask me how that makes sense in canon era I don’t know. Just roll with the logical fallacies.
During Ed and Stede’s honeymoon a mysterious fog rolls in. The ship in the fog is eerily reminiscent of the Revenge and its crew even more so.
