And act like you don’t even know, right at my face!” Grian closes his mouth with a click, breathless. His hands are sweaty and there’s an ache in his chest, hollowing out the space behind his ribs. Scar is still looking at him with those impossibly green eyes.

Scar hums, but doesn’t say anything as he kisses his neck. Grian finds himself moving his head back to give him more room without even being aware of thinking of doing so. Scar takes advantage of this and sucks a mark into the side of his neck.
“Scar,” Grian tries again, now trying to turn back. They don’t have time for this, they have things they need to do --
“You can take a break,” Scar murmurs against his ear, pressing against him more insistently. “You’ll be of no use if you overwork yourself.”
The words ring through the air and Grian closes his eyes. They’re so familiar, and he knows Scar used those same words in 3rd life. Not only that, but they had worked back then. And he hates to admit it, but they might work again.
