Summary
Chuuya disliked many things: surprises; parties; using his hands in battle; betrayal; crab. But there were only two things that he hated: his past, or what he knew of it, and Dazai, the insufferable bandaged-bastard whose silent footsteps and quiet face challenged just about everything that Chuuya knew about humans.
There were times when Chuuya judged his own humanity, times when he recognized his view on consciousness would always be different from others. Those times always ended in him feeling a sense of security the moment he’d perceive Dazai’s eyes. Black. Sick. Soulless. Human in logic but inhuman in every other possible way.
Chuuya was glad Dazai wrapped gauze around his head and over his eye, obscuring half of his vision. He too - Chuuya assumed - was afraid of his gaze.Or: Dazai Osamu and Chuuya Nakahara go on a "secret mission," that only Dazai knows the content of. Long story short, Dazai Osamu is going to be "assassinated." But is it assassination, or a well-planed "perfect suicide," that Chuuya is unknowingly helping with?
