Summary
After both Hook and Robin are killed (and Hook doesn't come back in my story!), Emma and Regina grow closer. At first it's about getting each other through the grieving process, but eventually it turns into a much deeper connection.
The story is a series of scenes that shows the evolution of their relationship. Some sexy times happen in later chapters. also I basically ignored the existence of Zelena.

“We’ll get back,” Emma says softly. “I mean, I still have a death sentence that needs to be carried out.”

Summary
Emma can no longer hide her feelings, nor hide the pain when she sees Regina with Robin, happy and smiling and playing happy family. A family that Emma yearned for herself, and one that she wasn't a part of. She never will be.
Emma can't look Regina in the eye and hide how it hurts to see so much happiness and know it's not because of her.So, Emma decided: she will leave Storybrooke. She's going back to New York and live her life there. Away from monsters, villains and curses. And Queens who were no longer evil and who had irretrievably won her heart.
Only two people know the truth behind her decision; Henry (who is too perceptive, and Emma still doesn't know if that's a blessing or a curse) and Hook, who against all the things she thought might happen, turned out to be a good friend.
Regina, and the idiots, believe that Emma is leaving Storybrooke because she wants to live a quiet life with the man she loves.
What happens when Snow insists that Regina joins them to spend Christmas with Emma on NY?
What happens when she discovers that Emma and Killian are just friends?

Arms around Emma, head against her shoulder, blonde hair tickling at her lips, the palest shadow of a signature in permanent marker on her arm: this is how they begin and end.
