So imagine his surprise - and the surprise of every witcher in the keep - to receive yet another envoy, from the enigmatic island of Inis Porhoet of all the damn places.

Nach der Eroberung von Redanien kommt Aleksander von Velen nach Kaer Morhen. Er ist nicht sicher, was sein Platz dort ist - oder ob er überhaupt wirklich einen Platz hat - und die Kultur der Festung ist ein großer Schock. Aber er kann nirgendwohin sonst gehen und mit Glück, Freunden und der Hilfe von einer sehr gutaussehenden Katze wird er sich vielleicht einleben können. Hofft er. Er muss nur niemanden beleidigen oder seine beschämende Schwäche offenbaren, richtig?
Aiden von den Katzen hat keine Ahnung, warum der neue Adelige der Festung so faszinierend ist, aber er wird auf keinen Fall eine Gelegenheit verpassen, es herauszufinden. Wenn Aleksander ihm nur genug vertrauen würde, um seine Lasten zu teilen.
